We hold a mandatory 7AM companywide meeting. For the first fifteen minutes, we talk about the week prior – what went well and what could have gone better. Then we talk about the week ahead – what we hope to accomplish and how we all play a role in it. If you want to get to where you want to be five years down the road, we think it’s vital to stay on track each and every week.
My favorite part of the meeting is when our two vice-presidents, Lisa and Chris, “Catch people” who did things right the week before. Along with the recognition, it comes with a small cash bonus. It is a great reminder to me of what a dedicated and talented group we have here.

ere at Gainey’s Concrete, we have a strategic vision and every year we meet as a company on a weekend offsite to modify and clarify this vision. We know what our corporate values are. We know what markets (businesses) we want to be in. Most importantly we know how we want our customers to view us. When issues arise, decision making, therefore, becomes easy. Nothing is more important to us at the end of the day than a satisfied customer – we live for their compliments.
This vision is brought to life every Monday morning here at Gainey’s Concrete.
